United Methodist Women
Purpose Statement: The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. What are we? United Methodist Women are a community of women who are faithful, purposeful, supportive, responsive, global, and unique! Who can join? Any woman who commits herself to the purpose and chooses to belong can be a member. We are now over one million members strong! who find meaning in their church & are drawn to its fellowship whose lives are packed full of activity & obligations who sometimes struggle with loneliness or a need for connection who juggle jobs & family trying to be faithful to both who want to combine Christian education with fellowship & outreach opportunities who seem overburdened with the traditional woman's role of care giver who feel they have gifts which are wasted or under developed who want to be accepted for who they are
