Preschool

The First UMC Preschool is a non-profit weekday school for children 2 to 5 years of age. The program, begun in 1969, is a ministry of The First UMC of Smyrna and is operated as a part of the church's educational program.

Our preschool staff believes that our responsibility as a church-sponsored school is to provide a program that will foster development of the whole child - emotionally, intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. Therefore, the curriculum is child-centered. Daily schedules are based on the interests of each particular age group to provide developmentally-appropriate activities and environments.

The school year begins in late August and extends through the month of May. School holidays and inclement weather follow that of the Cobb County Public Schools system.
