UMWlogoThe organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Smyrna First has three UMW subgroups which meet once a month:

  • Mary Martha Circle meets September through June on the 2nd Tuesday at 10:30 AM in Room A107
  • New Beginnings Circle meets year-round on the 3rd Thursday at 10:00 AM in member’s homes
  • Shirley Stewart Circle meets year-round on the 3rd Thursday at 7:30 PM in members’ homes
  • Willing Workers Circle meets September through June on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Room A107
  • Faithfilled Circled meets September through June on the 1st Thursday at 9:00 AM in Room C211

Six times each year at the UMW General Meetings, these three Subgroups come together to share events, activities and fellowship. They are also involved in events throughout the year for the Atlanta-Marietta District UMW and the North GA Conference UMW.
